The Hereford Whitefaces are entering their next district battle with plenty of momentum after earning two big victories over Dumas and Pampa. Those wins moved Hereford to 3–1 in district play and kept the Whitefaces firmly in the hunt.

However, one of the biggest stories of this matchup will take place in the back row.

Hereford’s Kyndall Valdez, the district’s No. 2-ranked libero, will face West Plains standout Idaly Sotelo, the district’s No. 1-ranked libero. It will be an exciting head-to-head battle between two fearless defenders who refuse to let the ball touch the floor.

Valdez is coming off one of her best performances of the season, recording an incredible 47 digs and proving why she is one of the district’s top defensive players. Her quick reactions, court awareness and determination have made her a major part of Hereford’s success.

Sotelo will bring her own defensive talent to the matchup as West Plains looks to protect its territory and slow down the Whitefaces’ attack.

This game will be about more than district standings. It will be about pride, rivalry and bragging rights. Every serve, save and diving dig will matter as two of the district’s best liberos battle for control of the back row.
