Whitefaces Fall to Plainview, Prepare for Seminole

The Hereford Whitefaces suffered their first loss of the season, falling 34–17 to the Plainview Bulldogs. Despite the setback, several Whitefaces delivered strong performances and continued to show their potential on both sides of the ball.

Senior A. Avina led the rushing attack with 12 carries for 79 yards and one touchdown. Junior J. Lucio made an impact through the air, finishing with four receptions for 90 yards and a touchdown.

Brix Machen was another major offensive weapon, recording nine receptions for 98 yards and a touchdown. The two-way standout also contributed five tackles on defense.

Quarterback B. Bell completed 17 of 31 passes for 228 yards and one touchdown.

Player of the Week: Quay Shugart

Quay Shugart earned Player of the Week honors after another impressive defensive performance. Shugart recorded nine tackles and now has 31 total tackles this season.

His defensive production has placed him among the top players in the area:

• No. 16 in Division 4A-I

• No. 2 in Class 4A-I Region I

The Whitefaces are now 2–1 and will turn their attention to their next challenge against the Seminole Indians. Hereford will look to learn from the loss, clean up its mistakes, and return to the win column.

One loss does not define a season. The Whitefaces are ready to regroup and keep battling!
