Hereford Falls to Bushland, Prepares for District Opener

The Hereford Lady Whitefaces fell to Bushland 3–0 in Tuesday’s non-district road match. Bushland won the three sets 25–17, 25–15, and 25–15, moving Hereford’s season record to 14–14.

Layla Mendoza led Hereford’s offense with eight kills, followed by Teagan Thomas with five. Defensively, Kyndall Valdez recorded a team-high 18 digs, while Kaylee Alonzo added 11 and Lily Madrigal finished with 10. Madrigal also led the offense with 11 assists, backed by Mia Estrada with seven.

Several Lady Whitefaces have delivered strong numbers this season:

• Teagan Thomas: 161 kills

• Layla Mendoza: 142 kills, 26 blocks, and 13 aces

• Lily Madrigal: 65 kills, 26 aces, and 232 assists

• Kyndall Valdez: 295 digs and 13 aces

• Karizma Rivera: 88 kills and 17 blocks

Hereford will look to bounce back as the Lady Whitefaces begin district competition against Canyon. With a 14–14 record, the team now has an opportunity to start a new chapter and make a strong push in district play.
